Field help: Was your place of residence for the whole year or part of the year 2025 outside of Germany?

Select "yes" if you lived wholly or partly outside Germany in 2025 – regardless of whether the stay was permanent or temporary.

This information is required if you:

• spent the entire year 2025 abroad,
• moved to Germany or abroad during the year, or
• had residences in both Germany and abroad at the same time.

On the following page, you will need to provide detailed information about your residence, arrival/departure, foreign income, and other tax-relevant aspects.
