Enter the 11-digit tax identification number (Steuer-Identifikationsnummer) that was sent to you by the Federal Central Tax Office in writing.
As a rule, you can find your identification number in your last income tax assessment notice (Einkommensteuerbescheid), in your employment tax statement (Lohnsteuerbescheinigung) and in every letter from your tax office.
If you cannot find your tax ID, you can also submit your income tax return to your tax office without a tax ID. Your tax identification number is known there.
You can also request your tax ID from the Federal Central Tax Office (Bundeszentralamt für Steuern) again. The tax ID will then be sent to you by letter.
