How does the online submission with identification work?
By online submission with identification, SteuerGo signs your tax return digitally for you on your behalf.
The electronic document is transmitted directly to the tax authorities via a secure internet channel and processed there as a legally valid tax return. This is also the common procedure when tax advisors transmit their clients' tax returns to the tax office.
To use this submission option, you need to identify yourself digitally for security reasons to prevent misuse. Identification is required by law under § 87d of the German Fiscal Code (Abgabenordnung).
Identification and activation of this submission option can be done in one of the following ways:
(1) Retrieve your data from the tax office
If you have activated electronic data retrieval in SteuerGo, the tax return can be submitted right away. For this purpose, the master data of the tax account holder (including name, address, date of birth, tax identification number), which are stored about you at the tax administration, are checked with the information in the tax return for identification. The activation of the data retrieval at the tax administration is carried out once and can take up to 2 weeks.
(2) Payment via PayPal
If you paid using PayPal, the PayPal status "verified" will be used in connection with the account data stored at PayPal (name, address) for identification purposes. After successful payment with PayPal as well as the PayPal status "verified", the online submission is immediately available to you.
Other restrictions:
- You can submit a maximum of two tax returns per tax year without your own certificate.
