Field help: (2019) There is a joint property (marriage contract!). 

You only need to tick this box in your tax return if you have concluded a marriage contract in which joint property ownership (Gütergemeinschaft) was agreed.

In most marriages, the statutory property arrangement known as joint ownership of asset increase (Zugewinngemeinschaft) applies. If this is the case, you do not need to tick this box.
